Typhoon Ambo pushes PCG to cancel cargo vessel and fishing boat operations

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has cancelled the operations of cargo vessels and fishing boats because of typhoon Ambo.

“Maritime activities will resume when the weather condition becomes normal, as may be declared by PAGASA [Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration] ,” the PCG said on its official Facebook page.

The PCG said its assets nationwide have been instructed to prepare to respond to emergency situations.

The service also said its men will coordinate with their respective Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) for possible rescue operations and other activities.
