The Civil Service Commission (CSC) said government employees who are vulnerable to COVID-19 will be prohibited from resuming their physical work on Monday.

CSC Commissioner Aileen Lizada said pregnant women, elderly and other government employees with health conditions will be required to work from home on Monday to decrease their risk of contracting COVID-19.

She said employees with flu-like symptoms are also not allowed to return to their offices.

Work in the public and private sectors is set to resume on June 1 after President Rodrigo Duterte approved the shift from modified enhanced community (MECQ) to general community quarantine (GCQ) on Monday.

Lizada said all government department heads will implement alternative work arrangements. This would limit the number of reporting employees so social distancing measures and other health protocols can be observed.

Department heads are reminded to strictly comply with occupational standards set by the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
