Catholic clergy encouraged the faithful to participate in the May 13 consecration of the Philippines to the care of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as the country continues to struggle with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Manila Auxiliary Bishop and apostolic administrator of the Archdiocese of Manila Broderick Pabillo said the consecration will follow a prayer of the rosary at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Valenzuela this morning.
Pabillo said a holy mass will be held at the Archdiocese of Manila at noon time. The local chief executives in the cities of Manila, Mandaluyong, Pasay, Makati and San Juan are expected to attend.
The Philippines was consecrated to the care of Mary in 2013 during the Year of Faith.
