Cebu City has reported 139 new COVID-19 cases

In a Facebook post, Cebu Vice Governor Hilario Davide III revealed that of the 139 new cases, 123 are from the Cebu City Jail, nine from Barangay Labangon, three from Barrio Luz, one each from C. Padilla, Kasambagan and Inayawan; and another one from the City Health Office.

With the number of cases still rising, Cebu City Mayor Edgar Labella is considering a one month extension of the enhanced community quarantine.

“We might extend from the 28th. For three weeks at least, or maybe until May 30,” he said in a press conference earlier today.

The city started enforcing the ECQ last March 28. As of April 22, the city has a total of 312 COVID-19 cases and six related deaths.
