DA Confirms P700 Million for Farmers affected by Typhoon Ambo

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Department of Agriculture (DA) has allocated P700 million as a quick response fund for farmers affected by typhoon Ambo.
“Ongoing po yung validation, by next week po maglalabas na ang pera sabi ng operations group natin (The validation is already ongoing, by next week the money will be released according to our operations group)” DA Spokesperson Noel Reyes said in a live feed conducted by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
He explained that the fund will also cover requests for interventions and damages in areas most affected by the typhoon including Eastern Visayas, Bicol, Quezon and the Cordilleras.
He added that the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) has started the process for the release of insurance proceeds.
“Sila [PCIC] naman ang nag-insure ng kani-kanilang mga crops or livestock worth 90.5 million ang indemnification fund (They insured their crops or livestock. The indemnification fund is at P90.5 million)” the DA Spokesperson added.
