DOST Secretary Fortunato De la Peña says the field implementation for the locally-developed COVID-19 testing kits will happen from April 4 to 25

The test kits were developed by the University of the Philippines National Institute of Health (UP-NIH) and are expected to be certified by the Food and Drug Administration this week. It will be sold commercially at around P1,300 per kit, compared to the P8,000 per kit currently used in hospitals.
