The Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized more than 900 grams of marijuana with an estimated market value of P1.1 million at Clark International Airport on Thursday.

The BOC said the contraband came in a package that arrived on June 9, which was declared as “art-work fine” from California, USA.

The agency said that the package yielded two vacuum-sealed clear plastic packs containing 966 grams of fine Kush weeds.

“Said shipment was likewise subjected to K9 sniffing which indicated the presence of illegal drugs. Thereafter, PDEA chemical analysis was conducted affirming the findings of BOC-Clark personnel,” the BOC said.

The BOC said that it seized two other packages containing one bottle of CBD (cannabidiol) oil and six tobacco-rolling papers that also contained marijuana.

The bureau is now preparing charges for violation of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act and Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against those involved in the shipment.
