Cebu City administrator Floro Casas Jr. belied rumors that Cebu City will return to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) because of the rising number of Covid-19 cases.

“As of today (June 13, 2020), the following post circulating in social media is fake news. This is malicious misinformation,” said Casas in his Facebook post on Saturday.

Casas said IATF Resolution No. 35 dated May 11, 2020 is “no longer applicable or relevant today.”

Cebu City has been under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) since June 1. The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) is expected to release a new memo regarding the city’s status on Monday.

Cebu City has the highest number of COVID-19 cases among all cities in the country with 3,000.
