The Department of Agriculture (DA) launched its e-Kadiwa online project to meet the demands of e-commerce businesses in areas under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

The e-Kadiwa project is an online platform where vendors can sell their fruits, vegetables and other agricultural products.

Agriculture Secretary William Dar said they have approved the application of four qualified vendors to sell their agricultural products on e-Kadiwa. The platform has recorded 100 deliveries since it was launched.

“We are elevating our game by digitizing agriculture. It’s one of the positive aspects brought about by COVID-19 pandemic,” Dar said.

Dar’s office has further received 300 inquiries from some 54 vendors asking to join the e-Kadiwa project.

Dar also lauded LGUs nationwide for purchasing and distributing P1.8 billion worth of agricultural products from farmers who were affected by the community quarantine.
